Day 10 Incredible India!!

31 August 2009
Wake up call is at 0800 hours and the first pit stop is Alchi monastery. The weather was very cloudy. Along the way, I stopped by a place where the 2 rivers met, Indus River (green) and Zanskar River (brown),

Overlooking the barley plantation and sitting on a hill top is the Basga monastery.

At 1100 hours, I reached Alchi. It was drizzling and the wind was chilly. Entrance fee to the monastery is 30 Rps. Again, no photography is allowed here.  In one of the temple, is a statue of the  so- called incarnation of the real transformation of Dalai Lama with 1000 hands and eyes. On the wall too, is a painting which dated back to 1200 years old.
Around 1330 hours, I reached another monastery.,Likkher monastery. Oh no, not another gompa!!

I left the place at 1430 hours and head off to another gompa, Spituk monastery, the hometown of my guide, Cha. The view from the gompa was beautiful overlooking the runway. And there is a quote on the mountain. I think I can borrow that quote for the sky is the limits where I shall push myself further hahaha,

I left the place at 1800 hours for the guest house and turned in early at 2100 hours as I was trouble with my non stop coughing throughout the day. Sigh!!!
